Talent Management Consultant – ECR
Job Summary
The Talent Management Consultant assists with the implementation of the human resources agenda/strategies in the subsidiary (ECR) by assuming several operational, supportive, and administrative responsibilities and programs.
The responsibilities cover a range of different activities including but not limited to the conduct of internal investigations, managing employer-employee relationships, affecting required labor reporting, requiring the role of the Human Resources Officer to perform as an advisor/consultant, partner, liaison, or facilitator to ensure the unit’s effectiveness, as well as the businesses’ productivity.
Essential Responsibilities
+ EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Ensures adherence to the organization’s institutional rules by providing guidance and direction to supervisors and managers managing employer-employee relationships that actions are in accordance with the organization’s disciplinary policies and that they align with local VI/BVI employment policies while fostering a harmonious employer/employee relations climate.
Coordinates/collaborates with Talent Management Consultant to ensure delivery of training on employer-employee related policies, procedures, and requirements (Corporate, local, federal) to leaders, managers, and supervisors to ensure an environment of sound management, fair treatment, and appropriate working conditions.
+ GOVERNMENT REPORTING
Gathers data and completes surveys to affect reporting of labor-related statistics to the USVI Government, including but not limited to OSHA (on-the-job injuries and accidents); OEWS (Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics Program); Worker’s Compensation Insurance coverage premium payments; Multiple Worksite Reporting; Summarizes monthly payroll data and completes reports to facilitate receipt of checks to affect payment of the Social Security taxes and Inland (Income) taxes due to the British Virgin Islands Government.
+ INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS
Leads all internal investigations, regardless of the source (employee grievance; Protect What is Yours; Internal Auditors; etc.) by hosting interviews, gathering information, crafting final reports, and submitting recommendations to correct or eliminate risks to the requirements of sound management, fair treatment, and positive working environments.
+ LEAVE MANAGEMENT/TIME AWAY FROM WORK
Serves as the subject-matter expert and initial point of contact for employees requesting FMLA, reasonable accommodation, short-term and long-term disability ensuring collection and dissemination of required communications and monitoring of such absences.
+ PAYROLL DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Serves as the employees’ first point of contact for the resolution of payroll discrepancies.
+ EMPLOYMENT POSTINGS
Ensures compliance with local and federal employment posting requirements.
+ EMPLOYEE SEPARATIONS
Conduct employee exit interviews to obtain feedback necessary to determine the reasons for employee turnover.
Other Responsibilities
+ Participates and recommends initiatives to affect the institution’s engagement and diversity strategy/collaborates with Talent Management Consultant and Corporate colleagues.
+ Takes the lead on recruitment efforts that require coordination and confirmation with Immigration Departments to obtain or validate eligibility to work in the US/ collaborates with Talent Consultant.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competencies
+ Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding/knowledge of HR policies and practices, compliance requirements, and risks implications of HR decisions
+ Understanding of labor laws (US, USVI, BVI) and disciplinary procedures
+ Demonstrates ability to use quantitative skills and knowledge of organization and the external marketplace to evaluate impact of HR activities on organizational performance
+ Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus
+ Organizational, time-management abilities
+ Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills; able to connect with others; actively listens; clearly and effectively shares information; and demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills, seeking input from others and adapting communication style to address diverse audiences
+ Able to cooperate and collaborate with colleagues; able to work in partnership with others; cultivate and maintain good relationships with peers and customers

Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management of Human Resources Management is required.
The role also requires a minimum of five years of previous experience in Human Resources employee relations, labor relations, and familiarity with local and federal regulations.
While not required, current certifications in Human Resources such as SHRM or HCI are preferred.
